Capture Weddings with Professional Photography Equipment
A wedding is a one-in-a-lifetime event, so you don’t want to make any mistakes when it comes to photography. Here are some tips for taking great pictures with professional photography equipment.
Firstly, use soft light. Pictures taken in diffused light are softer with fewer shadows and give subjects a warm and dreamy quality. Direct light will cause shadowy images. You can soften the light by bouncing it off a ceiling, wall or backdrop or by using a flash diffuser.
It’s a good idea to use natural light wherever possible; early morning or early evening light are ideal. Overcast days are perfect; but if the weather is sunny, position your subjects in shaded areas and use full flash, or take some silhouette shots of the bride and groom facing each other, with the sun behind them.
Churches can be challenging to shoot in. If a church prohibits photographers from moving around during the ceremony, use a telephoto lens (which will mean that there may not be much variety of angles). If the use of flash is prohibited, use a slower shutter speed. You’ll need to use a tripod or hold the camera still to let as much light into the picture as possible.
